touchdown Iowa!

too much fun

This is me and my buddy, Walker Kelderman. My momma & daddy are friends with his momma & daddy. They came to our house this weekend for a playdate! This was us a few months ago in March:A lot has changed since then! I used to be bigger than him...but now he's taller than me! I wasn't too excited about sharing my toys at first, but Walker's a cool dude, so I got over it and started sharing.

We played some hoops (just like our daddies used to do)We took some rides on my super cool bus
We ran up and down the hall, giggling at each other in the mirrorI stole the train from him right after Momma took this picture :)We got a kick out of watching Molly go potty outsideAnd then we took a bath! I wasn't too sure about Walker sharing my tub with me...I was kind of confused.I think Walker was confused too!But then I showed him how I line up my toys on the edge of the tubWhat's up dude?!And to top off the night...high fives all around! Thanks Walker for coming to play toys with me! Let's play again sometime, OK?

new loves

We've discovered ketchup, folks! Kase is not a huge fan of meat...so in an attempt to get him to eat more meat we brought out the ketchup. Turns out, not only is meat tasty when dipped in ketchup, but so are blueberries & potato salad! (insert nauseous face here)
Another new love is seeing pictures of himself. I have all of the pictures I've taken of him on our computer, and if we set them up in a slide show, he'll sit there and watch and watch and watch! It's strange seeing him sit still for such long periods of time :)

(And as you can see, making a mess of our living room is also a Kase-favorite)

We also love listening to Daddy sing. When Daddy practices his songs for worship practice, it doesn't take long before Kase is up on his lap to listen!
These two are too cute! :) My cup overflows with joy watching these two together!

the art of tailgating

Since Saturday's Hawkeye game was a night game, Kase was able to participate in some tailgating festivities!

Last year we were able to go as well, but this was how we spent the majority of that day:
Oh what a difference one year makes!

This is Auntie Rachel, our most faithful blog reader!
I took multiple pictures of these two together, and this was the best one...sorry Rach!

There was absolutely NO sitting in this kid this year! He wanted to go, go, go! Thankfully there were lots of footballs around.

He LOVED all of the attention he received! He wanted to throw the football to everyone, but his favorite was Grandpa! I think he has a special place in his heart for Grandpa!
Daddy was so excited to have Kase come tailgating today! Daddy has big dreams of future Hawkeye games with Kase.

Kase also played "bags."
"Hey, where did that bag go?"

Mommy had mixed reviews about tailgating. Personally I don't think it's the best place to entertain an active 16-month old toddler...especially one who doesn't like to sit. It makes me so nervous to constantly watch him with so many people and cars around! But, I think everyone enjoyed Kase's company, and vice versa!

buddies & coach daddy

Did you know it's football season? Well, it is...which means sometimes we don't see Daddy much during the day. We try and get to as many games as we can, but Kase doesn't exactly understand the idea of "watching the games." Usually we don't make it much longer than 2 quarters before we have to leave and head home. (Side note: it is SO great to actually be able to watch a few quarters of the game and then drive 3 minutes home!)

This picture is a VERY rare picture of Kase sitting at the games. He says "go, go, go!" when the boys start running!A future Montezuma Brave, going to go join the teamThis is Kase's buddy, Addilyn (Kase calls her "Abby"). They go to the babysitter together and are so cute together! Whenever they see each other they get all excited!
"Abby, would you like some cookie?""Just kidding, I'd like to eat it instead."Kase got dominated by Addilyn...she took him down!Buddies!

busy, busy boy

today i had such a busy day learning so many new things...here they are!

i learned about sharing:
i learned about the sprinkler and how it is very easy to get wet & muddy......see my shoes?!it was so much fun getting so messy!momma said my puppy couldn't come play...
i learned about problem-solving:
problem: the balloon is too high, i cannot reach ittrial & errorsolution: daddy showed me how to stand on a book to reach things!success!
and finally...

i knew daddy was home, but i couldn't see over the baby gateso, climbing the gate was clearly the best option
p.s. check out my puppy's ears...she's pretty excited to see daddy too!
momma is pretty impressed with how much i'm learning lately, she said something about a sponge. i like to repeat what i hear and when i read books i like to repeat the last word of each page. it's kind of a fun game i play with momma. here are some more of my skills:
-i'm pretty good at animal sounds
-i know that a kangaroo goes hop, hop, hop; that a bunny scrunches its nose; and that a hippo stomps on the ground
-i know the actions to "itsy bitsy spider" and "lord's army"
-i can run
-knucks, high-fives & kisses
-i can say "i love you"
-when momma asks me where an object is in a book i can point to it and i usually get it right
-i'm pretty good at emptying the bookshelves in my room
-and i know LOTS of words. i went to the doctor on friday and he was very impressed with my vocabulary. what can i say? i like to talk!

oh, and at 15 months i weigh 24 pounds and am 31 inches long. i am short and mid-weight, but i have big head :) momma and daddy say i'm lots of fun right now! it sure is fun learning all this new stuff!
