sign language
We've been attempting to teach Kase sign language for various things. Our main purpose is to prevent screeching and temper tantrums (as much as we can) when he wants something. Hopefully he can learn to sign instead of being dramatic! Here's what we're working on:
"ALL DONE"
To do this one you take both hands facing down and flip them so they face up
He's getting pretty good at them! I'm not sure if he knows what he's signing yet, but if we say "more" he'll do the sign. This morning at breakfast he sat in his chair and immediately began signing "more" so I'm hopeful!
"MORE"
Kase does it more like clapping, but it's touching your fingertips together

vacation
We're on vacation...which means a few days of no makeup, sweatpants, slippers, naps, too much Diet Mt Dew, reading, and extra play time with this sweet, sweet boy:
We are borrowing my aunt & uncle's lake house for a few days. It's cold and rainy, with no hope of it warming up in the next few days, but we're enjoying some relaxing time indoors with our little family.
Traveling went well. We left after school/work yesterday and headed up north. Kase slept for a little over an hour before supper. We stopped in Clear Lake for something to eat, and then it was time for Mommy to sit in back with Kase for some entertainment (for him, not me). Molly was very concerned why I wasn't sitting in the front seat:
She "checked in" on me multiple times during the remainder of our trip. All was good in the back seat...me and my little buddy were busy playing and reading books:
Kase has a new trick he's just started...he loves pulling himself up next to any and every object he can find...
HE LETS GO!!!
he's pretty excited about his new trick!

GOOOOOOD MORNING!!!
look how we found kase this morning!
it's a good thing daddy dropped down the mattress!
kase has been movin' and groovin' all over the place lately. he's pretty pumped about being able to crawl, and has a new fascination with electrical cords. we're forced to look at things through the eyes of a baby and see how dangerous things are! we never knew how childproofing the house also meant our house would be adult-proof!

Police Academy Graduation
For the past 14 weeks my oldest, younger brother has been attending the Police Academy in Des Moines. This weekend marked the end of his academy training, and we attended his graduation! Josh is officially a police officer at the Pella Police Department. In honor of Josh's graduation, we bought Kase a shirt that read "My Uncle is a Police Officer" and he rocked it!
