Post Tax-Season Weekend

TAX SEASON IS FINALLY OVER!!! I am excited, can you tell?! This past weekend we went overnight to Des Moines for a relaxing weekend, and some fun shopping :) I have to take this time to brag about my wonderful and supportive husband. He surprised me with a pregnancy massage this weekend at a spa in Des Moines! For all of you expecting mommies, a pregnancy massage is a MUST!!! It was so wonderful to have all of my aching spots pampered. I'm so thankful to have a supportive husband who surprises me with things he knows I love. Keith has been more than wonderful these past months, I feel so lucky to have someone who loves me and our baby as much as he does. He will be a wonderful daddy! Here's a picture of the certificate he made me telling me about my massage. The certificate is from Daddy & Baby!

We also had a great time shopping on Saturday, buying some more baby furniture, dreaming of future projects at Lowes, even shopping for nursery accessories at Gordman's and Michaels! Below is a picture of Keith's newest Hawkeye and most favorite Hawkeye purchase that he bought this weekend.

It was so wonderful to have an overnight get-away just the two of us one last time before we become parents! Thanks, love, for a great weekend!

30 weeks and chubby feet!

We hit the 30 weeks mark this week...3/4 of the way done! It's hard to believe how fast time has gone since we found out that we were pregnant...only a few more short weeks until we meet our little boy! I would like to take this time to thank the inventor of flip-flops. Without this wonderful creation I would have extremely painful and swollen feet. :) Keith and I have had a blast decorating our nursery, and are getting very close to having it complete! During Easter break Keith went and bought our crib and had it assembled by the time I came home from work. This past weekend we also picked up the dresser and the glider/ottoman combination. We hope to take some pictures and post them in the near future. For now, you'll have to get your entertainment in seeing my expanding belly :)

Family Baby Shower

A few weeks ago Baby Sietstra's aunties threw us a baby shower back home in Northwest Iowa. It was great getting together with family to celebrate our baby boy...our baby will be VERY loved by all in our family! Aunt Rachel & Aunt Cara planned an alphabet baby topic game and a nursery rhyme themed game. We also played a game where the guests cut a piece of yarn guessing how big my belly was. What most of us didn't realize was how difficult it would be to guess how big of string to cut! They also made some delicious brunch food and we had a great time opening gifts. The theme was a "necessity shower" so the gifts were centered around things we would use often when he is born. We received some very cute clothes, a diaper genie, homemade blanket & hangers, a bath basket, diaper bag, and the carseat/stroller! Again, our baby boy is and will be very spoiled! We're so thankful for such supportive and loving families to bring our little bundle into. With these people surrounding us we have no doubt that our child will be raised in a God-loving family! Thanks again aunties for such a great morning! Love you both!

Double Baby Shower

This past weekend I had my first baby shower thrown by some friends from college. Another one of my friends, due May 1, was another honoree at the shower. I was blessed with an afternoon with old friends, baby themed games, and delicious food. Here is a picture of the two mommies and our friends. The second picture is my gift, our baby swing! Even though we don't see each other very often, it is always great to see each other, and we always have fun together. Friends, thank you for a great afternoon/evening, I cherish our time together and wish we lived closer!

GROOOOOOWING

Me and baby are definitely growing! I'm feeling stronger and more frequent movements everyday which has been so fun. I've never been so excited or happy for my body to be changing so much! :)

My First Post!

I'm entering into the world of blogging! I never thought I'd be one that would do something like this, but this is part of our effort to share more of our lives.

Montezuma Girls Basketball is officially over for the season. Last night we had a great end of year banquet (potluck!), with some awards handed out out and some great senior recognition! Keith's first year of head coaching was truly wonderful. It was exhausting, but never a day where we regretted our decision. The group of girls he coached was very fun, and we couldn't be more excited to see the beautiful young women they are turning into. The seniors also presented us with one of our first baby gifts! It was a very sweet and cute quilt made by one of the grandmothers. Ironically enough, it will match his room almost perfectly!

Yesterday we hit our 25 week mark of pregnancy! I'm still feeling great, tired, but else great! I have a feeling we are going to have a very active boy on our hands after he is born...sounds like his Daddy and uncles! I have enjoyed being pregnant so much, I'm almost sad to have it be over in a few months! Because of our infertility troubles, we feel truly blessed to be able to be pregnant! There's nothing better than a child created from two people who love each other and love the Lord! I promise baby bump pictures coming soon! Tax season is winding down (YAHOO!) with only one month, or 5 Saturdays, or 36 days remaining, but who's counting?! It has gone relatively smoothly this year, and I'm constantly learning new things. What's helping me get through is knowing that in a few short months I'll be spending time at home with my sweet baby boy and husband. Now THAT'S motivation! :)
