tulip time 2012!

This week Friday night we took Kase to Pella's Tulip Time.  We went last year, but he wasn't too interested in the parade.  I was nervous that he wouldn't do well since it was going to go WAY past his bedtime, but he did great!

First up, a corn dog.  He demanded to hold it on his own.

Then, we tried every means necessary to keep him occupied before the parade started.

Someone gave him a sucker.  Buddy Boy was covered in a sticky mess in a matter of minutes!

Kase was completely content throughout the entire parade...we were amazed!  It's been a very very long time since we've seen him sit so still!  The future looks bright for our attendance to parades :)

 Kase LOVES anything farm related...cows, big red barns, chickens, etc.

We have some friends who recently expanded their family farm to include chickens & pigs, so tonight they invited Kase over for a visit.

And oh boy, Kase had a blast!

Kase had been to the farm previously to see the chickens, and he went right back to loving those chickens!

 

At first he wasn't too sure about the pigs...they were squealy and squirmy.

But after awhile he got pretty daring and close to those pigs!

 

 No...that is NOT mud :(

 Thankfully leaving the farm wasn't too dramatic.

We took off Buddy Boy's clothes, handed him a chocolate chip cookie, and took off!

I think (much to Mommy's distaste) that there will be many more trips to the farm!

future career?

 Does Kase have a future career as a masseuse?

He has an interesting choice in tools...

Who knows, but for now, we'll reap the benefits of him thinking it's fun to rub our backs!

after playtime we had a little lesson in cleaning up the mess

then...straight to the bath for this messy, messy boy!

i wonder what will happen whenever i plant flowers in that flower pot?! :)

long time comin...

a few weeks ago we had the opportunity to travel to cancun, mexico to celebrate a wedding a long time comin...for this cute couple

and let me tell you...it was a REALLY.ROUGH.WEEK.

but before i show pictures from the week, here are some from our kase exchange point:

we met grandpa, grandma & uncle chris at a burger king so kase could blow off some steam from riding in the car for 2.5 hours.  uncle chris was a good sport and climbed in the play place with kase!

after nana & papa picked up kase and molly and after mommy shed a few tears and demanded seventeen hugs from kase we went to omaha to stay overnight.  my love and i had a date to outback steakhouse (a real grown-up dinner!) for my birthday date.  then E.A.R.L.Y. the next morning we left for the airport!

we upgraded our room when we got to the hotel.

see?! i told you it was a rough week!

 i had the privilege of taking some senior pictures for this handsome brother-in-law 

 and what family vacation isn't complete without some family pictures? (minus the two kiddos) 

i also had the privilege of taking the wedding pictures for the happy couple

not a bad location for a wedding, eh?
