GO BRAVES!

Football season has been a big challenging this year with a rambunctious toddler!  There is VERY little sit in this child, especially when he sees other kids running around.  Last year we found an area in the endzone with a fence on two sides so we could prevent them from running too far.  And since I'm not going to even attempt to sit in the bleachers with him, sitting in the endzone has turned out to work pretty well.

Kase gets pretty excited to go to Daddy's football games!

Apparently it's necessary to drink out of both cups at the same time

Kase has a shirt that says "My Daddy's the Coach" :)
I have a shirt that says "Coaches Wives Club"!

TOUCHDOWN IOWA BRAVES!!!

These two boys are lifesavers at these games!  Krazy Kase keeps them busy, but the boys can run a whole lot faster than this pregger Mama!

Kase and his buddy, Addilyn.  He has a terrible habit with Addilyn...he tackles her...often.  Poor Addi.

tractor

Cue music "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy"...

"I like my Daddy's tractor.
I'm a pretty cool dude.

 My momma says 'be careful'
While I'm chugging along."

big boy fun

One of Kase's newest big-boy activities is playing Play-Dough.  We bought a set before we went on vacation this past summer, but haven't gotten it out much until recently.  It's also been fun to watch Kase's imagination unfold as he creates new things with his play dough.

This creation is called "white donut"

He also thinks it's fun to have Mommy put the play dough into little balls so that he can put them into the cup, dump them out of the cup, and then repeat...multiple times.

The oven timer has turned into my newest parenting technique.  Not only is it our timer for when Kase needs to have a time out, but it's a great timer for letting him know when it's time to move to a new activity.  For example, tonight while playing play dough it was getting close to bath time.  I knew it was going to be a battle, so I set the timer for 5 minutes...and it worked!  As soon as the timer sounded he hopped off the chair and said "time for bath Momma!"

This little/big boy is growing up too fast! :)

apple pickin' belly growin' fun

A few years ago Keith and I went apple picking with my family who lives in Pella.  Since then we haven't been able to go with them due to busy schedules, and won't be able to go with them this year either, so we decided to go on our own!  Kase LOVED picking the apples, and it was great to be able to have a family activity in the midst of our busy fall.  Hopefully this is a new tradition we can continue in the coming years!

first we had to have a lesson in not eating or picking up the apples on the ground

daddy got his weight-lifting workout in for the day!

"Mommy, are you coming too?"

This is one of three apples (that I know of) that he ate while we were picking.

 Mommy was there too...

I'm not quite sure what Kase is looking at here...

like I said earlier, Daddy got his workout in at the orchard! :)

and since I know you're all dying to see Baby S, here's Mommy & Baby at 23ish weeks!

tonight...

Kase insisted on emptying ALL of his bath toys into the tub.

and who could resist a simple request from this little cheeser?

Then, because it's chilly here, we broke out the footie pajamas.
Buddy boy hasn't worn footie pajamas in awhile so I was nervous what he would think, but he loved them!

I can't get enough of this cheeser of a little boy!

smiles, meltdowns & movies

This past weekend Keith's family came to visit and attend the Hawkeye game.  Some of these pictures are courtesy of Auntie Rachel who is tired of me slacking on my blogging duties.

Before they left for the weekend, Kase and Chris had a small "fillow pight."
This picture is pre-meltdown.

And this is mid-meltdown.
Right as we were saying our good-byes.
Nice timing.
He got a small "ouchie" while pillow fighting, accompanied with being extremely tired, which turned into a HUGE and dramatic meltdown, lasting at least 30 minutes.
Thankfully we were at home, had no where to go, and could just let this meltdown run its course.

Considering that fall is coming up soon, I purchased some new warmer clothing for Kase.  Larger sweatpants, long-sleeved shirts, stocking hat & mittens were received yesterday.  Kase INSISTED on wearing his hat & mittens while watching his movie.

Our days just aren't complete without watching Toy Story or Cars!
