my new pings

mom and dad got me some new golf clubs this weekend.  my momma said i needed to get some clubs after she saw me hitting a ball with my puppy's bone.

i'm still working on my form, and daddy says i should learn to hit left handed. i tell him to get over it...i'm a right-handed boy.

sometimes i hit it under the furniture (sometimes i do it on purpose...i think it's funny to make momma get down on her belly to fish it out).

i'm pretty excited about my new toys!!!

games

The Wii, or "games" as Kase calls them, has been a highlight of our nights.  Usually Kase just likes to watch us play them.  But tonight, Kase decided he wanted to play bowling too, and got pretty excited when we knocked some pins down!

After we played a game of bowling, Kase decided he needed to come "uppey" and wanted to be held while I played tennis.  I'm pretty bad at tennis just by myself.  Imagine how bad I was while I was holding Kase.

"I'm so strong. Let me show you my muscles."

kase the builder

Kase is a pretty proud architect.
He loves seeing how tall he can build the towers.
Usually he feels the need to combine two blocks of the same color, and THEN he can place them on the tower.
Mommy is so proud of his nerdy building habits :)

And, of course, Kitty needs to watch Kase build the towers.  Periodically during the building process Kase carries Kitty over to the tower, shoves Kitty's face into the tower, and says "Kitty, See?"  We can't do much without Kitty's involvement these days.

I may or may not have put a block in a place where I knew Kase would hate it.
OK, I admit it.  I did it on purpose.
I think it's funny when he gets upset at things like that.
It reminds me of myself :)
That's something I would do.
I get upset about things like that.

It's funny when the towers fall down.
Then he says, "build again?!"

So we do.  We build again!

And again...

And again...

gym rats

Kase and I are gym rats.
OK, that might be a SLIGHT exaggeration.
We've attended our fair share of games this year, but we could have attended more if Kase cooperated more.  He usually only makes it to halftime before he's itching to get out and run.

We have a pretty great routine. We get to the game early so Kase can run around on the gym for awhile.  He loves to pull all the balls off of the racks and make Mommy chase them.  It's funny...for him.  We never leave the house without two very important items: Kitty & Puppy.
When the girls come out to warmup he LOVES to watch them, first starting by watching from the bench.
Then he gradually moves to standing on the court (the closer the better)

and, of course, giving them high-fives.
Once game time starts, he's strapped in and ready to eat!  Mommy's a fast learner, and I know my kid.  I know that if Kase doesn't have activities and food to occupy him, it's going to be DISASTEROUS.  I bring his chair, strap him in, and let him stuff his face with grilled cheese & french fries.

Once halftime starts, he's done.
He's done watching the game.
He's done sitting.
The boy wants to run.
So, we run.

Occasionally I'll get the chance to see the score of the game during the second half, but that's rare.

Tonight's game was Senior/Parents Night.
The 6 seniors on Keith's team this year have been with Keith from the beginning of his coaching career.  They were his first JV team, and then moved to Varsity the next year when he became Head Coach.  These 6 girls are incredible.  I would be proud to have any of these girls in my family.

alter egos & snow fun

By day, Kase
By mid-morning, Fireman

And yes, it IS necessary to color with no pants and the fireman hat!

Take a look at a PURE masterpiece :)

Kase is a talented boy.  He can also channel his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle alter ego.  And every Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle needs a wooden hammer.

Saturday afternoon Kase scooped some snow with Daddy,

said hello to Mr Snowman,

and played outside with Daddy for AT LEAST an hour...BUT...Mommy's camera battery died, so there are no pictures.
Kase's next alter ego was the Abominable Snowman, as it was quite difficult to get him inside.  However, it was nothing that an Oreo couldn't quickly fix!
